Green-Blue Corridors

An Integrated Vision for Sustainable Cities

At BD+P, we have built a solid track record in urban regeneration through the design of green-blue corridors—integrated ecological, social, and cultural solutions that foster more sustainable, resilient, and livable cities.

Over the years, we have led high-impact urban interventions across diverse contexts. In Mexico, our work includes the restoration of urban rivers such as the Atoyac in Oaxaca, the San Felipe River, and the Guigu Bi’cuu (River of Dogs), as well as the revitalization of emblematic spaces like the Calzada de la República in Oaxaca de Juárez.

Internationally, our projects include the development of coastal green corridors in Batumi (Georgia); ecological and social integration strategies in public space in Barbosa and Medellín (Colombia); and a “green ring” strategy to strengthen sustainable urban connectivity in Leuven (Belgium). We also contributed to the strategic vision for green corridors in Al-Najaf (Iraq), proposing rehabilitation concepts for the Euphrates riverfront.

One of our most significant projects is Monte Albán Vivo, a linear park linked to a UNESCO World Heritage site. This initiative blends archaeology, urban design, and environmental restoration in the city of Oaxaca.

Our approach is grounded in integrated strategies that promote ecological connectivity, enhance climate resilience, and improve urban quality of life—creating inclusive, safe, and accessible spaces for everyone.

As coordinators and active members of the international Blue Horizon Initiative (BHI–PIB), we collaborate with a network of strategic partners that expands our technical and operational capabilities. This alliance allows us to offer tailored solutions that respond to local contexts and deliver lasting, positive impacts for the communities we work with.
